Drivers Education Class 2020

The East Mills Drivers Education class will start on May 11th and will be following the temporary restrictions/changes below:

The Iowa Department of Transportation Driver & Identification Services will allow approved school districts and driver education programs to teach “in classroom” traffic education through distance learning during the mandatory school closures because of COVID-19. This approval will only be on a temporary basis until classes resume safely in person.  WE WILL BE USING GOOGLE HANGOUT FOR THIS

Behind-the-wheel laboratory may be done virtually during this time. Behind-the-wheel instruction must continue to be done in accordance with Iowa Administrative Code

Here are the recommendations:

Driver Education vehicles are to be cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.

Concurrently, all students and teachers who are in behind-the-wheel driving situations should be asked a series of questions before each session.

  • Do you have a fever of 100.4 or above?

  • Have you traveled outside the State of Iowa in the last two weeks?

  • Do you have a runny nose, cough or sore throat?

  • Have you been in personal contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with or exposed to COVID-19?

If any questions are answered yes, we do not recommend continuing the session. To protect all involved, this will help evaluate their risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Following the above temporary restriction/changes above here is the class information:
