On Saturday, May 10th, 2025, Coaches Sally Stoakes and Sam Rasmussen took some of our Junior High track team (with previous qualifying times) to the Mike Henderson State Track meets in Waukee, IA. It was a beautiful day, and nearly all of our runners & jumpers scored personal records (PR)! Addilyn Loporcao medaled (top 6) in all 3 races she ran. She led the team by scoring all of the points, and our girls' team finished 15th out of 36 schools in the 7th-grade small school (1A & 2A) division.
The coaches are very thankful for such supportive parents who came out for a HOT track meet that lasted over 8 hours. We are very proud of all of the athletes and their efforts today! What a day to be a Wolverine!!!

As the weather gets warmer outside, a reminder that we do have dress code rules and regulations that also align with board policy 502.1
There is a strong connection between a student’s appearance and his/her academic performance and conduct. Inappropriate student appearance may cause material and substantial disruption to the school environment or present a threat to the health and safety of students, employees, and visitors on school grounds. Students are expected to adhere to reasonable levels of cleanliness and modesty. Students are expected to wear clothing that is appropriate to and that does not disrupt the school or educational environment. Although this is not an attempt to include all items, the following types of clothes will be
excluded:
(1) Articles and clothing that display indecent pictures or slogans.
(2) Clothing that permits inappropriate exposure of the body. Spaghetti straps, cutoffs, and midriff exposure are not acceptable attire in a business setting and therefore are not
acceptable attire in the school setting.
(3) Articles and clothing that could cause damage/injury to themselves or other
students and/or disrupt the normal functioning of the school.
(4) Bare feet or stocking feet.
(5) Hats, caps, bandanas, hoods, etc. may not be worn in school.
(6) Any item of clothing that advertises or promotes tobacco, alcohol,
or controlled substances.
(7) Articles and clothing that display double-meaning slogans.
Students inappropriately dressed are required to change their clothing or leave the school.
Under certain circumstances or during certain classes or activities, a stricter dress code may be appropriate for the student’s appearance. Students inappropriately dressed are required to change their clothing or leave the school. Repeat offenders will face disciplinary action.

On Friday, Mrs. Stoakes took 8 students to a new experience in entrepreneurship and education: DesignDash.
The Iowa EdTech Collaborative and the Jacobson Institute at the University of Iowa present DesignDash, a startup event engaging high school students and educators in a one-day, fast-paced entrepreneurial excursion.
The students all plan on attending again next year, and Mrs. Stoakes is hoping to add to the 8 students that attended this year!
