The Grand March for prom 2025 is open to the public! Doors to the High School will open at 4:30 pm, and the March starts at 5 pm next Saturday, 4/26/25.
We are asking spectators to park on the North (by the softball fields) and the East (water tower) side as we want students to park and walk up on the “new” West Entrance for pictures.
Students will then be bussed to the Lakin for dinner after the Grand March.

For the 2nd year in a row, East Mills Senior and Dance Team member Cloe Brown will represent the East Mills School District at the girl's state basketball tournament.
Forty teams qualified for the State Basketball Tournament after days, weeks, and months of practice. Another championship-caliber team that will show its talent Friday and Saturday has practiced just a few hours. That team is the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team, which has become a tradition at the Girls’ State Basketball Tournament.
All dance teams represented are members of the Iowa State Dance Team Association, and the dancers were chosen based on ability, attitude, dedication, and leadership qualities. Auditions were held last fall at Newton Community Schools. After just hours of practice together, the students annually put on a show that is nationally recognized as one of the finest of its kind. The RecPlex in West Des Moines served as the host for the Thursday and Friday rehearsals.
The pregame performance will include 50 dancers performing a patriotic salute choreographed by Rachael Wurr and Ella Jahner of Pella.
The halftime show will take place during the 4A championship game (2:30 pm) Saturday. The halftime group includes 252 dancers representing 102 Iowa high school dance teams.
Coverage of the pregame and halftime performances can be viewed on your
local Iowa PBS stations.
The IGHSAU salutes, for the 44th consecutive year, Kathy Enyart and the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team.
