East Mills Community School District

For the 2025-26 school year, East Mills will continue to take cash at the door for regular-season sporting events, musicals, plays, etc. Please note that the admission price is now $7.00. East Mills students are still admitted for free to all regular-season home sporting events, plays, etc.

We would like to remind patrons that East Mills Activity tickets are available for purchase for $75 per ticket. An activity ticket will admit the holder to regular-season home sporting events, plays, musicals, etc. Activity tickets may be purchased in person at the front office, or you may purchase them online through the school store, which is available on our website and on our parent portal

Junior High Homecoming dance is Saturday, September 13th from 7-9 PM.

The following form must be completed if you are bringing a date to the Homecoming Dance who is currently not a student or graduate of East Mills. Permission slip must be returned to the office by September 17th.

It was a great day for EM XC today! A big congratulations to Addilyn, Bennett, Jacob, Sophia, Mackenzie, Brock, Anderson, and Landan. Our JH athletes had their first meet today and competed well. Addilyn Loparco took 3rd overall for girls. Jacob Rasmussen took 13th overall for boys. Our HS athletes ran so well that they took 2-4 minutes off their time from Tuesday! Every athlete set a PR today. As coaches, we are extremely proud of these kids and can't wait to see what they do at their next meet.

We would like to update you on the progress of our new 8-lane all-weather track. Bleachers, final grade on the field, northside retaining wall, and goalpost installation are all complete. The scoreboard location has been moved. Stairs, concrete work, and irrigation are nearing completion. Asphalt and sod work will start soon. We are excited to see the finished project in the coming weeks!

East Mills Community

Track and Football Field renovations have been ongoing this summer on our campus, which will be exciting additions of an 8-lane all-weather track, new bleachers, and a renovated irrigated football field.

Due to excessive rain in July, progress has been delayed to the point that the Homecoming Football game for September 19th vs Sidney will have to be relocated. To keep the game in our district, we will be moving the game to the SWITCH campus. (Southwest Iowa Technical and Career Hub) The football field at SWITCH no longer has lights, so kick-off will be moved up to 5:00 PM.

The following schedule will be followed to accommodate the changes.

Friday September 19
Pre-K-12 will dismiss at 11:00 AM. Sack lunches will be provided
Homecoming Parade in downtown Malvern will start at 11:30 AM
Elementary students will bus down to ride in the parade as usual
Jr/Sr High students will participate in float building in the morning and walk/drive to the parade at 11 AM.
At the conclusion of the parade, bus routes will run from downtown Malvern or Elementary parents may pick up students on West 5th Street.
Kickoff of Homecoming game at 5 PM
Existing bleachers and temporary bleachers will be available
